There are two main kinds of Cambodian visa: tourist and business.
30-day tourist visa (Type T)
- Cost: $20
- Extension: 30-day available once only, for around $50
- Requirements: one passport photo
30-day business visa (Type T)
- Cost: $25
- Extension: one, three, six or twelve months
- Extension costs: $40/$80/$160/$210
- Requirements: one passport photo
- Limitations: you may be asked for ‘paperwork’ for your business; the solution is to be polite, say you do not have it, and pay an additional $5
- Benefits: three months or more allows for multiple entry in/out of Cambodia
Both visa types are available upon arrival at Siem Reap/Phnom Penh airports and at all land borders. Overstay fee is $5 per day.
You can also buy a 30-day tourist e-visa from http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/. The cost is $25 instead of the usual $20. It is accepted at airports and Koh Kong, Poipet and Ha Tien land borders.
There are three main kinds of Thai visa: 15-day, 30-day and 60-day.
15-day transit visa
- Cost: free
- Extension: not available
- Requirements: one passport photo
- Availability: only available at land borders
30-day tourist visa
- Cost: free
- Extension: 30 days
- Extension cost: 1,900THB
- Requirements: one passport photo, proof of onward travel exiting Thailand
- Availability: granted upon arrival into any airport or in advance
60-day tourist visa
- Cost: 1,900THB
- Extension: 30 days
- Extension cost: 1,900THB
- Requirements: one passport photo, proof of onward travel exiting Thailand
- Availability: must be arranged in advance
Overstay fee is 500THB per day.
